WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Caron Butler scored 12 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter Friday, rallying Washington to its first win of the year -- 95-87 over Utah.
The Jazz led by one going into the final period, but Washington leaned on Butler to end their season-opening losing streak at five games. The Wizards were the last team in the league to post a victory. Utah lost for just the second time this year.
Antawn Jamison added 21 points for the Wizards and Javale McGee had 13 points with 11 rebounds.
Carlos Boozer had 20 to lead the Jazz. Utah point guard Deron Williams, who missed the first six games with a sprained ankle, produced eight points, six rebounds and seven assists.
Washington took the lead for good on a three-pointer by Jamison with two minutes to play, touching off a nine-point run.
