COL FB: Alabama 41, Georgia 30

ATHENS, Ga., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- John Parker Wilson passed for 205 yards and a touchdown Saturday when 10th-ranked Alabama built a 31-0 lead in a 41-30 victory over third-ranked Georgia.

Glen Coffee rushed for 86 yards and two TDs and Roy Upchurch and Mark Ingram added rushing touchdowns for the Crimson Tide (5-0, 2-0 SEC), who have scored at least 40 points in each of their last three games.

Matthew Stafford passed for 274 yards and two touchdowns for Georgia (4-1, 1-1), which became the third team in the top-four to lose this weekend, joining top-ranked Southern California and No. 4 Florida.

Alabama completely dominated the first half, scoring on each of its five possessions for a 31-0 lead.

Georgia crept back in the second half with a 92-yard punt return by Prince Miller cutting the gap to 14 points early in the fourth quarter.
