MLB: Kansas City 5, Oakland 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Billy Butler had a three-run homer and finished with four RBI Tuesday, leading the Kansas City Royals to a 5-2 victory over the Oakland Athletics.

Zack Greinke pitched seven innings and earned the win for the Royals. Greinke (10-9) allowed two runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Ryan Shealy added a solo home run in the victory.

Daric Barton homered for the Athletics, who have lost three of their last four games.

Gio Gonzalez (1-3) was the losing pitcher, allowing four runs on two hits with five strikeouts over four innings.
