MLB: Colorado 4, Washington 3

WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Brad Hawpe and Troy Tulowitzki powered the Colorado Rockies to a 4-3 victory Friday over the Washington Nationals, who have dropped eight games in a row.

Hawpe hit a two-run, fifth-inning home run that put the Rockies ahead to stay. Tulowitzki blasted a solo homer to center in the third.

Jorge De La Rosa (6-6) worked seven innings and earned the win, allowing three runs and six hits while striking out seven.

Ronnie Belliard drove in one run and scored another for Washington.

Loser Tim Redding (8-8) surrendered four runs and seven hits over six innings.
