MLB: Minnesota 11, Washington 2

MINNEAPOLIS, June 19 (UPI) -- Justin Morneau had three RBI, and Delmon Young and Brian Buscher had two each Wednesday as part of Minnesota's 11-2 romp over Washington.

Minnesota had only a 3-1 lead going into the seventh, but Morneau singled in one of the two runs the Twins scored in that inning and they piled on six more in the eighth.

Kevin Slowey (4-6) picked up the win, giving up a run on seven hits in six-plus innings. The loss went to Jason Bergmann (1-5), who surrendered three runs on five hits in six frames.

One of Washington's runs came on a homer by Felipe Lopez in the fifth.

Young had a two-run double and Buscher a two-run single in the six-run eighth, which Brendan Harris began with a triple.
