NBA: Atlanta 103, Boston 100

ATLANTA, May 2 (UPI) -- Three free throws in the final 10 seconds from Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby Friday gave Atlanta a 103-100 win over Boston that tied their playoff series at 3-3.

The seventh and deciding game will be played Sunday in Boston, with the Celtics trying to avoid what would be a major upset.

Golden State became the first NBA team to win a playoff series as a No. 8 seed last year. Atlanta is trying to become the second in as many seasons to do so.

Boston let a nine-point lead midway through the third period slip away and the Hawks went in front with 6:49 left in the fourth on two free throws by Johnson.

A three-pointer by Johnson with 67 seconds left put Atlanta ahead by five. Johnson made two free throws with 10 seconds to go for a four-point cushion and, after Boston's Kevin Garnett made a layup, Bibby made one of two foul shots with seven seconds left.

Rajon Rondo's three-point attempt at the buzzer did not reach the rim.

Marvin Williams scored 18 points for Atlanta and both Bibby and Al Horford had 16.

Garnett and Ray Allen had 20 each for the Celtics.
