MLB: Tampa Bay 4, Baltimore 2

BALTIMORE, May 1 (UPI) -- Carl Crawford's go-ahead two-run single in the top of the seventh Thursday gave Tampa Bay a 4-2 victory at Baltimore.

The score was 2-2 when the Rays' left-fielder recorded his second hit of the contest.

Carlos Pena and Jonny Gomes drove in a run apiece, with Gomes belting his third home run this season, a solo shot in the top of the third.

Jason Bartlett had a run and two hits for the Rays, who out-hit Baltimore 9-3 but stranded 10 runners in the eighth win in their last nine games.

Winner Matt Garza (1-0) gave up two earned runs and three hits in six innings and Troy Percival recorded his sixth save this season and 330th in his career.

Baltimore's runs came on Adam Jones' two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth.

The losing pitcher was starter Brian Burres (3-2).
