San Francisco broke up a scoreless tie in the fourth when Eugenio Velez doubled with one out and came in to score on a double by Bengie Molina.

The Giants added two runs in the eighth, with Velez scoring on a throwing error by right fielder Ken Griffey Jr. and Molina driving in another with a sacrifice fly.
