MLB: Chicago Cubs 8, N.Y. Mets 1

CHICAGO, April 22 (UPI) -- Ronny Cedeno had a grand slam homer and five RBI Tuesday, powering the Chicago Cubs to an 8-1 victory over the New York Mets.

The Cubs had 14 hits while posting their fifth straight win. Kosuke Fukudome went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and Reed Johnson added a two-run single.

Ted Lilly (1-3) allowed one run on four hits in six innings to pick up his first win of the season for Chicago.

Brady Clark had the only RBI for the Mets, who have lost three straight on the heels of a five-game winning streak.

Nelson Figueroa (1-1) allowed three runs on seven hits and five walks in five-plus innings to take the loss.
