MLB: Toronto 3, Detroit 2

TORONTO, April 19 (UPI) -- Dustin McGowan yielded two earned runs in seven innings Saturday to help the Toronto Blue Jays edge the Detroit Tigers 3-2.

McGowan (1-1) gave up seven hits with two walks and one strikeout in his first win this season and closer B.J. Ryan earned his second save.

Detroit got one RBI each from Jacque Jones and Ivan Rodriguez.

Losing pitcher Jeremy Bonderman (1-2) gave up three runs -- two earned -- and five hits in five innings with six walks and two strikeouts.

The Tigers had won two of three.
