ANAHEIM, Calif., April 19 (UPI) -- Ervin Santana pitched eight innings of one-run, three-hit baseball Saturday night to lead the Los Angeles Angels past Seattle 4-1.
Santana (3-0) struck out six and walked none -- and kept the Mariners off the scoreboard until Adrian Beltre's solo homer in the top of the seventh.
Scott Shields pitched the ninth to get his first save of the season for the Angels, who have won six of their last seven games.
Seattle starter Jarrod Washburn (1-3) gave up four runs on 10 hits in six innings, with no walks and one strikeout.
The Mariners have lost two straight following a three-game winning streak.
