NEW YORK, April 12 (UPI) -- Gabe Kapler's two-run homer Saturday keyed Milwaukee's 5-3 victory over the New York Mets.
His third homer this season gave the Brewers a 5-2 lead in the top of seventh inning and was Milwaukee's third round-tripper in the contest. Bill Hall and Rickie Weeks hit solo shots.
Weeks had two of the seven hits for the Brewers, who broke a three-game losing streak.
In a battle of aces, winning pitcher Ben Sheets (2-0) surrendered three earned runs and five hits in 7 2/3 innings, with two walks and five strikeouts.
Eric Gagne earned his second save.
New York's David Wright drove in both runs with a sacrifice fly in the first inning and a solo homer in the eighth.
Losing pitcher Johan Santana (1-2) gave up five runs -- four earned -- and six hits in 6 2/3 innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.
