TORONTO, April 11 (UPI) -- Travis Buck doubled home two runs in the 12th inning Thursday and the Oakland Athletics held on in the bottom half of the inning to defeat Toronto 3-2.
Oakland swept the three-game series, with Buck driving in all three Oakland runs Thursday night.
Chris Denorfia opened the 12th with a single off Brandon League (0-1) and moved to second on a ground out. League then intentionally walked Jack Hannahan and hit Kurt Suzuki to load the bases.
A ground ball by Emil Brown resulted in an out at the plate, but Buck followed with a double to center that scored Hannahan and Suzuki.
Vernon Wells singled in a run in the bottom of the 12th, but reliever Keith Foulke worked his way out of further trouble thanks to a double-play grounder and picked up his first save.
The win went to Joey Devine (1-0), who worked two scoreless innings of relief. He was recalled from Class AAA earlier in the day.
