MLB: LA Angels 9, Minnesota 1

MINNEAPOLIS, April 1 (UPI) -- Jon Garland pitched eight innings in his Angels debut and Mike Napoli and Casey Kotchman both homered Tuesday in the LA Angels' 9-1 win over Minnesota.

Garland (1-0), who was acquired in November from the Chicago White Sox for shortstop Orlando Cabrera, allowed just one run on six hits for the Angels.

Vladimir Guerrero went 3-for-4 and with three RBI, and Garret Anderson went 3-for-5 with two RBI for the Angels.

Adam Everett had the only RBI for Minnesota. Boof Bonser (0-1) allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings.
