Westwood back on top in Andalucia

ANDALUCIA, Spain, March 29 (UPI) -- Defending champion Lee Westwood used a 6-under-par 66 Saturday to regain the lead through three rounds of the Open de Andalucia in Spain.

The native of Worksop, England, held a one-stroke lead after Thursday's first round but a 1-over 73 Friday left him in a group of seven players two shots off the lead.

"I got off to a very good start, and I played pretty good from there on in even though I missed some chances," Westwood said. "But that is the nature of this golf course. It is very difficult to hole putts and a couple of greens that they've re-laid on the back nine have different speeds so it is tricky. It was nice to make five birdies in a row (holes 1-5)."

Through 54 holes, his total is 12-under 204.

Oliver Fisher (67), Thomas Levet (68) and David Lynn (68) share second place at 11-under 205.
