NBA: LA Lakers 102, Dallas 100

DALLAS, March 19 (UPI) -- Dirk Nowitzki missed a harried three-pointer at the buzzer Tuesday, allowing the Los Angeles Lakers to get out of Dallas with a 102-100 win.

The Lakers' margin of victory came on two free throws by Sasha Vujacic and Derek Fisher. The Mavericks had made it close with back-to-back three-pointers by Nowitzki that made it 98-97 with 41 seconds left. Later, another three-pointer by Jason Terry drew Dallas to 101-100 with 4 seconds left.

Kobe Bryant was Los Angeles' leading scorer with 29 points and seven assists, Vladimir Radmanovic tied a season-high with 21 points for the Lakers, who are tied atop the Western Conference with Houston after the Rockets had their 22-game win streak halted by Boston Tuesday.

Odom added 17 points and 17 rebounds.

Nowitzki scored a game-high 35 points, along with 11 boards and a season-high five blocks for the Mavericks, who fell a half-game out of the West's sixth spot, behind idle San Antonio. Howard and Terry each tallied 19 points for Dallas, which had a five-game overall win streak and four-game home win streak stopped.
