NBA: Minnesota 111, Sacramento 103

SACRAMENTO, March 8 (UPI) -- Al Jefferson had 21 points, 13 rebounds and three steals Friday night and the Minnesota Timberwolves held off a late comeback bid to beat Sacramento 111-103.

The Timberwolves outscored the Kings 32-20 in the second quarter to build a 57-44 halftime lead.

Rashad McCants led Minnesota scorers with 22 points and added three steals. Craig Smith had 18 points and three blocked shots and Ryan Gomes added 17 points and seven rebounds for the T'Wolves, who have beaten the Kings in three of their last four meetings and ended a five-game losing streak.

Sacramento got a career-high 48 points with six rebounds from Kevin Martin. John Salmons had 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

With his 13 points, four rebounds and seven assists, Beno Udrih was the only other player to score in double digits for the Kings, who have dropped two in a row and seven of eight.
