NBA: Atlanta 97, Miami 94

ATLANTA, March 8 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson scored 39 points Saturday and the Atlanta Hawks held on to beat Miami 97-94.

Johnson scored 11 in the fourth period, helping Atlanta quell a late rally by the Heat. The four-year NBA veteran equaled his season-high scoring total, 39 points in a 126-123 loss to Seattle Nov. 16.

Atlanta led by only 59-56 at the half, and Miami closed to 94-92 in the last minute in the fourth.

Josh Smith, the only other Atlanta player in double figures, had 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots. Al Horford and Salim Stoudamire both scored nine and Johnson added eight assists, six rebounds and three steals for the Hawks, who broke a four-game losing streak.

Miami was led by Ricky Davis' 27 points and four rebounds.

Dwyane Wade had 24 points, four rebounds and eight assists. Shaun Marion had 14 points and 13 rebounds and Mark Blount scored 13 for the Heat.

Prior to the game, Atlanta and Miami replayed the final 51.9 seconds of overtime from their Dec. 19 game, and the Hawks won it 114-111.
