NHL: Chicago 4, Vancouver 1

CHICAGO, March 2 (UPI) -- Patrick Kane scored two goals for Chicago Sunday, helping the injury-plagued Blackhawks defeat the Vancouver Canucks 4-1.

Chicago, which has won eight of its last 12 games, played without Robert Lang, Brent Sopel, Martin Havlat and Nikolai Khabibulin -- all sidelined with injuries.

Kane also registered an assist and Andrew Ladd and Patrick Sharp got the other two goals for the Hawks, who went ahead 2-0 in the second period and coasted to the victory. Chicago goalie Patrick Lalime needed just nine saves.

Ryan Kesler got Vancouver's goal. Goalie Robert Luongo allowed all of Chicago's scores and blocked 22 other shots before Curtis Sanford replaced him in the third period.
