Ryan was hired Feb. 6 to replace Jeff Cogen as president of the Rangers after Cogen had become president of the Dallas Stars. Both franchises are owned by Tom Hicks.

The last five years of Ryan's Hall of Fame career were spent with the Rangers.

Daniels was the youngest general manager in major league history when he was appointed to the position in 2005. At the time, he was 28 years, 41 days old.
