NHL: N.Y. Rangers 4, Carolina 2

RALEIGH, N.C., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Chris Drury and Brendan Shanahan both extended lengthy points streaks Thursday in carrying the New York Rangers past Carolina 4-2.

Drury produced a goal and recorded a point in his seventh straight game. Shanahan's goal gives him a points streak of six straight contests.

Sean Avery and Brandon Dubinsky also scored for the Rangers, winners of six out of eight, and Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves.

Carolina had won its previous three games.

With the Rangers nursing a one-goal lead in the third period, Shanahan scored on a slapshot from the right faceoff circle at 7:28.
