NBA: Atlanta 117, Golden State 110

OAKLAND, Calif., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson led six players in double figures with 27 points Friday, lifting the Atlanta Hawks to an unlikely 117-110 win over Golden State.

The Hawks won for only the seventh time on the road this season and the victory came against a team that had won two-thirds of its home games prior to this one. Golden State suffered a letdown, however, after beating the Boston Celtics at the buzzer Wednesday.

Salim Stoudamire added 18 points for Atlanta and both Mike Bibby and Josh Smith had 17. Bibby, obtained by the Hawks prior to the trade deadline in a deal with Sacramento, had been questionable for the game with a heel injury.

Baron Davis led Golden State with 35 points and Monta Ellis had 24.

Atlanta scored 68 points in the first half and led by 18 at the break. The Hawks increased their lead to 23 in the second half only to see the Warriors close to within five before their comeback ran out of steam.
