NHL: N.Y. Rangers 3, San Jose 1

NEW YORK, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Chris Drury had a goal and an assist Sunday in the New York Rangers' 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

His 19th goal this season at 5:44 of the second period (power play) snapped a 1-1 tie and put New York ahead for good. Earlier, he assisted on Ryan Callahan's fourth at 11:34 of the first that created the tie.

Callahan also scored his fifth of the season into an empty net for the final goal of the contest with 42 seconds left.

Goalie Henrik Lundqvist stopped 29 of 30 shots for the Rangers, who beat a Pacific Division team for the first time this season. It was the third win in New York's last four games.

San Jose's Jonathan Cheechoo prevented a shutout with his 15th goal, which started the scoring at 3:31 of the first.

Evgeni Nabokov was beaten twice on 32 shots for the Sharks, who lost for the third straight time.
