NHL: Minnesota 4, N.Y. Islanders 3 (OT)

ST. PAUL, Minn., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Brett Burns scored the game-winner in overtime Saturday, lifting the Minnesota Wild to a 4-3 victory against the struggling New York Islanders.

Burns' 10th goal of the season came 2:34 into the OT after assists by Marian Gaborik and Nick Schultz.

Regulation ended in a 3-3 tie after Minnesota's Brian Rolston scored his 22nd goal of the season at 16:36 of the third period. His 21st had given Minnesota a 2-1 advantage at 11:10 of the second.

Nicklas Backstrom made 26 saves on 29 shots for the Wild, who avoided their first three-game losing streak in over three months.

New York got one goal each from Bill Guerin, Andy Hilbert and Sean Bergenheim.

Mike Comrie had two assists, while Rick DiPietro made 14 saves on 18 shots for the Islanders, who suffered their seventh straight loss and have fallen deeper into the Atlantic Division cellar.
