NBA: Cleveland 100, Atlanta 95

ATLANTA, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- LeBron James scored 26 points and claimed 11 rebounds Friday and Cleveland held off Atlanta for a 100-95 win.

James came within three assists of a triple-double in carrying the Cavaliers to their third victory in four games.

Cleveland played without Daniel Gibson (strained right hamstring) and Drew Gooden (strained right groin). The Cavaliers also lost Larry Hughes in the fourth quarter to a toe injury.

Ira Newble added 18 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 17 for the Cavaliers, who built as much as a 14-point advantage in the third period.

Atlanta opened the fourth quarter with a 16-4 run to take a one-point lead. With the score tied at 89-89, Damon Jones scored on a layup to start 7-2 Cleveland rush that gave the Cavaliers a 96-91 lead with a minute to play.

Atlanta was led by 23 points from Joe Johnson. The Hawks had won their previous three games.
