NBA: New Jersey 94, Miami 85

MIAMI, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Richard Jefferson scored 25 points Friday and the New Jersey Nets, despite the return of Miami's Dwyane Wade, downed the Heat 94-85.

Wade rejoined the Miami lineup after recovering from a bout with the flu. He scored 15 points but Miami lost its third straight and its 18th out of 19.

The Nets have won two in a row after losing their previous nine. Josh Boone added 15 points for the Nets and Vince Carter had 14.

New Jersey had a 10-point lead starting the final period and the Heat came no closer than seven during the quarter.

The Nets limited Miami to 10 points in the second period and held a 43-31 halftime lead. The 31 points were the fewest Miami has scored in the first half this season.
