COL BKB: Miss. State 88, Mississippi 68

STARKVILLE, Miss., Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Charles Rhodes scored 26 points on 12 of 14 shooting Saturday, propelling Mississippi State to an 88-68 victory over 15th-ranked Mississippi.

Jamont Gordon added 13 points and six assists for the Bulldogs (14-5, 5-0 SEC), who have nine straight wins. Jarvis Varnado had 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots.

Dwayne Curtis had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Rebels (15-3, 2-3), who have dropped two straight and three of their last five games. Freshman Chris Warren and Eniel Polynice added 15 and 14 points, respectively for Ole Miss.
