Amare Stoudemire led the Suns with 29 points and eight rebounds, while Shawn Marion had 17 rebounds and Steve Nash had 13 assists.

This game was tight throughout, with the Clippers only up by one point after the first quarter and at the half. After Phoenix nudged in front 55-53 in the third quarter on two Nash free throws, Los Angeles burst ahead with an 8-0 run topped by Tim Thomas' running jumper and led 74-65 going into the fourth.

Phoenix made it 86-83 on a pair of Stoudemire free throws with 3:32 to go, but Cassell hit a turnaround on the next possession. Kaman later tipped in a Cassell miss for a 90-84 Clippers lead with 1:58 to go that the Suns couldn't erase.
