NBA: Utah 108, Phoenix 86

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Mehmet Okur scored 22 points Thursday and the Utah Jazz rode a 35-point first quarter to a 108-86 whipping of Phoenix.

The Suns played without superstar guard Steve Nash, who left Wednesday's overtime victory over Indiana with a case of stomach flu.

He was badly missed in a game that saw the offensive-minded Suns manage only 12 points in the third period.

Ronnie Brewer added 21 points for Utah, winners of four out of five. Carlos Boozer had 18 and Deron Williams 17.

Leandro Barbosa paced the Suns with 25 and Amare Stoudemire had 21. No other Phoenix player could score in double figures and the Suns made just 36 percent of their shots from the field.
