Chicago's losing streak reached seven games. Robert Lang scored the Blackhawks' goal and Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 25 shots.

With Dallas captain Brenden Morrow in the penalty box for hooking, Barnes fired a slap shot from the right point that seemed to be heading wide of the net. But the puck hit Khabibulin's stick and popped over him into the net.

Morrow added an empty-net goal with 18 seconds left.

Loui Erikkson scored a power-play goal for Dallas in the first period, the first time the Stars had scored with the man advantage in 25 tries.
