COL BKB: Dayton 92, Rhode Island 83

DAYTON, Ohio, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Brian Roberts scored 23 points Wednesday in pacing No. 22 Dayton to a 92-83 decision over No. 20 Rhode Island.

Dayton's 12th straight win came in their Atlantic 10 Conference opener.

Roberts hit three three-point shots and Marcus Johnson added 14 points, powering the Flyers to a 13-1 record. They hit 62 percent of their shots from the field.

Jimmy Baron scored 26 points for Rhode Island (14-2) and Will Daniels. The Rams, however, fell behind by 13 at halftime and had a nine-game winning streak come to an end.

Johnson hit a three-point shot with a minute to play, giving Dayton a seven-point cushion.
