NBA: Memphis 88, San Antonio 85

MEMPHIS, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- The Memphis Grizzlies' Rudy Gay nailed a three-pointer as the buzzer sounded Wednesday, dealing San Antonio an 88-85 setback.

Memphis let a 23-point lead get away in the second half, but salvaged the victory when Gay hit the Grizzlies' only field goal of the final seven minutes. He was able to get the shot off over the outstretched arm of San Antonio's Tim Duncan.

Gay scored 23 points and Mike Miller paced Memphis with 31. Miller made five three-pointers.

Manu Ginobili led San Antonio with 20 points and Duncan had 16. The Spurs have lost four out of five.

Duncan completed San Antonio's rally by dunking the ball with three seconds left, tying the game at 85-85.

Juan Carlos Navarro was able to inbound the ball to Gay at the top of the key for the winning shot.
