RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Rod Brind'Amour scored two goals Friday night and Cam Ward made 31 saves as the Carolina Hurricanes held on to defeat Washington 4-3.
The Hurricanes ended a two-game skid, with Cory Stillman and Matt Cullen also producing goals.

Ward pulled out the victory even though his team was out-shot 34-19. Washington had 16 shots in the final period.
Washington's Alex Ovechkin ran his season points total to 19, scoring twice on the power play. The Capitals had a man advantage for the final two minutes of the third period, but could not come up with the equalizer.
Brind'Amour's second goal of the game made it 4-2 at 3:47 of the third.
