NHL: Dallas 3, N.Y. Islanders 2 (OT)

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Mike Modano scored in overtime Monday, with his second goal of the game delivering the Dallas Stars a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Miroslav Satan had a game-tying goal at the 17:22 mark of the third period for New York, but Modano ended it just 35 seconds into the extra session when he rebounded a Stephane Robidas shot and flipped it past Rick DiPietro. It was the Stars' sixth straight victory.

Jeff Halpern had a goal and Sergei Zubov two assists for Dallas, which has recorded at least a point in eight consecutive games (6


2).

Marty Turco saved 23 shots to earn the win for the Stars, winners against the Isles for the first time in seven tries. It was Dallas' first victory in the series since March 23, 2001.

Richard Park had the first goal for New York. DiPietro had 28 saves for the Islanders, who have lost three of their last four games.
