NHL: N.Y. Rangers 2, Pittsburgh 1 (SO)

NEW YORK, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- A goal by Petr Prucha in the second round of a shootout Saturday night gave the New York Rangers a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh.

The contest was tied, 1-1, after the second period and remained deadlock through overtime.

Scott Gomez scored for the Rangers in the first period with assists by Prucha and Fedor Tyutin. Pittsburgh's Sergei Brylin scored the equalizer with assists by Johnny Oduya and Mike Mottau.

Goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves on 29 shots for the Rangers, who have won three in a row, and four of five.

Martin Brodeur stopped 26-of-27 shots for the Devils, who had won their previous two contests.

On the power play, both clubs went 0-for-3.
