NHL: Detroit 2, Edmonton 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Valtteri Filppula's goal with 24.4 seconds left in regulation Tuesday lifted the Detroit Red Wings to a 2-1 road victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

Henrik Zetterberg got the Wings' other goal, extending his point-scoring streak to 13 games. Chris Osgood needed to make just 15 saves for Detroit, which has outscored its opponents 22-10 during its six-game win streak.

Steve Staios scored the lone goal for the Oilers, who lost for the eighth time in their last 11 outings. Dwayne Roloson made 32 saves for Edmonton, which was outshot 34-16.
