Schilling (1-0) walked one batter and fanned four as the Red Sox swept the Angels for the second straight time.

The shutout was completed by relievers Hideki Okajima and Eric Gagne.

Howie Kendrick’s ninth inning sacrifice fly produced the Angels' lone run.
