Texas had a 4-3 advantage going into the bottom of the eighth, but Jose Vidro singled in the tying run and the Rangers failed to score in the ninth after putting a runner on second with one out.

Mike Wood (3-2) came on to pitch the bottom half of the inning and gave up a leadoff single to Adrian Beltre. Wood then retired two batters before Clement drove a 2-1 pitch over the wall in center.

Closer J.J. Putz (6-1) worked the top of the ninth to get the win.
