MILWAUKEE, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Kevin Mench had three hits and three RBI Saturday night as the Milwaukee Brewers routed the Pittsburgh Pirates, 12-3.
One of Mench's hits was a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh -- his seventh home run this season.
Milwaukee got a two-run homer from Corey Hart and two hits and four RBI from Bill Hall. Hart scored three times, and Mench scored four runs.
Johnny Estrada had one run, three hits and two RBI, while Prince Fielder had two runs and three hits for the Brewers, who have won only four of 10.
The winner was Dave Bush (11-9).
Pittsburgh’s Freddy Sanchez had two hits and two RBI. Jose Bautista had the other RBI, and Steven Pearce had two hits, as the Pirates dropped their fourth straight.
Losing pitcher Shane Youman (3-5) gave up eight earned runs and seven hits in just two innings.
