MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Patrick White passed for 192 yards and two TDs and ran for 98 yards two scores Saturday afternoon, as sixth-ranked West Virginia beat Western Michigan, 62-24.

White completed 10 of 18 passes and carried the ball nine times.

Steve Slaton rushed 16 times for 109 yards and three touchdowns, and caught two passes for 61 yards and another score for the Mountaineers.

Tim Hiller completed 16-of-25 passes for 160 yards and ran for a touchdown for the Broncos. Jamarko Simmons caught 14 passes for 142 yards and two TDs.

Backup quarterback Thomas Peregrin completed 9-of-17 passes for 71 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
