ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Ian Kinsler hit a three-run homer Saturday night to power the Texas Rangers to a 5-3 victory over Seattle.
Starter Jamey Wright allowed three runs and seven hits in five innings. Frank Francisco (2-0) got the win by recording the final out in the seventh.
Adrian Beltre, who made two errors, and Richie Sexson each drove in a run for the Mariners, who had a two-game winning streak halted.
The Mariners remain a game behind the Los Angeles Angels in the AL Central, and lead the AL wild-card race by just two games over the New York Yankees.
Horacio Ramirez pitched 5 2/3 innings for Seattle. He gave up three runs -- none of them earned.
Rick White (1-1) took the loss, allowing two runs -- one earned -- on three hits in 2 2/3 innings of relief.
