MLB: Pittsburgh 8, Houston 3 (15 inn.)

HOUSTON, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Adam LaRoche ignited a five-run 15th inning with a three-run homer Friday night, as the Pittsburgh Pirates out-lasted Houston, 8-3.

Pittsburgh's Xavier Nady hit a solo shot in the ninth to force extra innings, and the game stayed deadlocked until LaRoche's blast off Travis Driskill (0-1), who worked the game's final three innings.

A sacrifice fly by Carlos Maldonado and an RBI single by Jose Castillo accounted for the other two runs in the 15th.

Shane Youman (3-4) worked the 14th and 15th to get the win.
