Son of Eagles Coach Andy Reid jailed

NORRISTOWN, Pa., Aug. 24 (UPI) -- A judge in Pennsylvania Friday revoked bail for the son of Philadelphia Eagles Coach Andy Reid, ordering Britt Reid to jail immediately.

The 22-year-old was awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to a weapons charge. He was arrested in January after a road rage incident.

Britt Reid was free on $100,000 bail. He became involved in a minor crash Thursday at the Plymouth Meeting Metroplex, hitting a shopping cart with his sport utility vehicle.

When police searched the vehicle, they found numerous pills. Reid had prescriptions for most of them, but not for the painkiller Vicodin, WCAU-TV reported.

Prosecutors argued that he did not keep to the conditions of his bail.

"It's one thing to be taking a trip to Dick's Sporting Goods when he's only to be driving to work and school,” said Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General Marc Costanzo. “It's another thing for him to be possessing or using controlled substances.”

Andy Reid, at a news conference on the upcoming season, refused to discuss his son’s situation, The Philadelphia Inquirer said.

"If we decide to go that direction, then I'm going to go that direction," Reid said, pointing to the exit door.
