MLB: Seattle 4, Minnesota 3

SEATTLE, Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Richie Sexson drove in three run Monday, including a walk-off solo homer in the ninth, catapulting Seattle past Minnesota 4-3.

Matt Guerrier (1-4) surrendered the game-winner, ruining another solid start from Johan Santana, who gave up three runs on seven hits with four strikeouts over seven innings.

J.J. Putz (2-1) picked up the win by pitching the ninth. Starter Felix Hernandez surrendered only one run on four hits with a pair of walks and six strikeouts over six innings.

Jose Vidro collected three hits and drover in the other run for the Mariners, winners in six of seven and 12 of 16. With the victory, Seattle stayed tied with the New York Yankees atop the American League wild card standings.
