SAN DIEGO, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Chad Tracy hit a three-run homer to finish off a four-run 11th inning Wednesday, giving Arizona a 9-5 win over San Diego.

The Padres forced extra innings by overcoming a four-run deficit in the ninth, but Arizona got to Heath Bell (4-3) in the 11th to maintain its one-game lead over Los Angeles in the National League West.

The 11th inning assault made a winner out of Jose Valverde (1-3), who gave up two runs in two innings of relief.

Arizona had a 5-1 lead going into the bottom of the ninth, but Geoff Blum doubled home a run, Mike Cameron singled in another and Milton Bradley hit a two-out, two run homer that tied it.
