The win went to Julian Tavares (6-8), even though he gave up four runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief.

Cliff Lee (5-8) surrendered nine hits and eight runs in four innings to take the loss. Lee has lost his last four starts, compiling an 11.71 ERA in the process.

After trailing by eight early in the contest, Cleveland clawed back to make it 12-9 in the seventh. But Ramirez hit his second homer in the eighth, a two-run shot off Jensen Lewis.
