Harrington moves to sixth in golf rankings

PHILADELPHIA, July 23 (UPI) -- Padraig Harrington used his British Open championship to move to No. 6 in the world men's golf rankings released Monday.

Harrington went into the week rated 10th but move four spots with his playoff victory over Sergio Garcia. Garcia's strong play at the open allowed him to move from 13th to eighth.

Tiger Woods remained the world No. 1 golfer with Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Ernie Els and Adam Scott, in order, remaining in the top five.

After Harrington, Vijay Singh was ranked seventh and after Garcia were Henrik Stenson and Geoff Ogilvy in the Top 10.
