Colorado starter Josh Fogg shut out the Nationals on three hits and three walks over six innings, and LaTroy Hawkins kept the shutout going through the seventh -- but Washington got to Jorge Julio (0-3) in the eighth.

D'Angelo Jimenez singled and went to second on a passed ball before Julio issued an intentional walk Ryan Zimmerman. Kearns responded with his sixth homer of the season -- and his first in 53 games with the Nationals, who won for the fourth time in their last five games.
