Shawn Green and Lastings Milledge each had one RBI, and four players had two hits for the Mets, who have alternated wins and losses in their last five games.

Glavine did not walk a batter in his eight innings, and struck out five.

Wagner hurled a 1-2-3 ninth for his 19th save of the season.

The victory gave Glavine, a two-time Cy Young award-winner, 298 wins in his career. He is two wins shy of becoming Major League Baseball's 22nd pitcher to win 300 games.

Cincinnati starter Matt Belisle gave up an earned run and nine hits in seven innings, with two walks and six strikeouts.

Mike Stanton (1-3) was the losing pitcher after giving up an RBI single by Milledge in the bottom of the eighth.
