MLB: Cincinnati 5, Arizona 4

CINCINNATI, July 7 (UPI) -- Edwin Encarnacion hit a key two-run homer Saturday night to help the Cincinnati Reds edge Arizona, 5-4, for their third win in a row.

Encarnacion's sixth homer of the season gave Cincinnati a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth. Norris Hopper knocked in the eventual winning run with an RBI single in the eighth after Arizona's Eric Byrnes tied the game, 4-4, with a three-run homer in top half of the inning.

Brandon Phillips, Scott Hatteberg and Adam Dunn all drove in a run, while Ryan Freel had a run and two hits for the Reds, who have won four of their last five games.

The winning pitcher was Jon Coutlangus (4-1).

David Weathers earned his 17th save.

Jeff Salazar hit an RBI double in the second for Arizona's other run.

No player had more than one hit for the Diamondbacks, who suffered their fourth straight loss.

The losing pitcher was Tony Pena (3-2).
